Spend your summer helping L.A. Kitchen fight hunger and food waste in Los Angeles! The L.A. Kitchen Summer Internship Program is a two part internship. Half of your time will be spent engaging first hand in the LAK Impact Kitchen alongside staff to produce healthy meals for fellow Angelenos and half will be collaborating with an LAK department on a specific topic.
Basic knife/culinary skills
Insights into a large scale meal production program
Leadership skills leading small groups of volunteers
Firm grasp and knowledge of LAK programs/operations
Experience working in a collaborative, team based, and open source work environment Access to professionals working in the culinary, nutrition, community relations, and food policy field(s)

Outside group activities
Monthly group meetings with L.A. Kitchen CEO and Founder Robert Egger
Interns must be able to commit to a schedule of a approximately 30 hours a week.
Internships are unpaid or class credit only,
Must be currently enrolled in high school or college.
Prior experience in the field related to a placement is preferred for some but not all positions.
