In the last year, we worked to expand our volunteer calendar to include holy days or events that are important to numerous faith traditions, as well as days that honor independence and liberation leaders who are important to L.A.’s deeply diverse communities. JOIN US.
Bring the whole family (young and old) to L.A. Kitchen for a morning of family friendly kitchen activities. Volunteers will help L.A. Kitchen’s culinary team transform reclaimed fruits and vegetables into thousands of meals that will distributed to fellow Angelenos. It is an opportunity for different generations to come together to learn about healthy eating, food waste and give back.
There will be kid friendly prep stations, arts and crafts and healthy snacks. Due to the nature of the activity we are only able to host children 7 years old and up. Upcoming dates below.
Every month the Food For Thought Series explores issues surrounding our local and global food systems. We invite industry leaders and advocates to discuss the important topics our food, health and local communities face today. Guests so far have included L.A. Food Policy Council, L.A. Compost and Local Roots. The hour long talks are free and open to everyone.
A monthly collaborative cultural programming series where culture, education, and service vibrantly intersect. Volunteer service days are enhanced by opportunities to learn about diverse cultures through food. Events and activities recognize, celebrate, and honor important days that are significant to L.A.’s diverse multicultural communities through cooking, food, art and storytelling. Check out our upcoming topics.
