The annual events hosted Los Angeles Mission make for great volunteering. This year, make a difference by helping to feed the hungry and homeless. By either donating or volunteering, you can be part of the solution and make a huge difference to those who need your help the most. Vital to the heart of the LA Mission, volunteers can choose from a variety of events. Visit www.losangelesmission.org for more information.

The Midnight Mission

Los Angeles, CA 90014

Midnight Mission is perhaps one of the most highly regarded organizations of its kind and every Angeleno hopes to volunteer at one point or another; volunteers who don’t make the cut for Thanksgiving only need to wait a month to participate in the Christmas Brunch held on Christmas Day from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. There is no minimum age requirement which makes this the perfect choice for families looking to bring even the youngest ones along! Midnight Mission provides a holiday meal to thousands of LA’s most impoverished. While volunteers serve up plates, Santa Claus and his helpers provide toys to children in need.

Big Sunday operates under the belief that “everyone has some way that they can help somebody else.” They offer multiple ways to donate, pitch in, and help. You can participate in a community activity, donate (new or used items or cash), and check their online calendar for upcoming special events because volunteering isn’t limited to just the holiday season. One upcoming event is Big Sunday’s 5th Annual Thanksgiving Stuffing Event on Wednesday, November 23rd from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Volunteers enjoy music and being in the company of other giving people as they fill bags with holiday food. (Last year, 800 volunteers packed 2,000 bags).
