Wealth derived from the community should be reinvested locally. Investments should be made in both the present and the future. All people have potential, and every person has a role in strengthening the community. You are a vital member of the L.A. Kitchen community and your support will change lives today and into the future!

There’s lots happening at LA Kitchen! Check out our different volunteer opportunities and ways to get involved.

Volunteers work with a variety of L.A. Kitchen chefs, kitchen staff, and alumni or students from our Empower Program to create nutritious meals and snacks that are donated to partner agencies that serve Los Angeles’ aging and homeless populations.  You may be doing anything from working with our reclaimed fruits and vegetables (clean, peel, zest, cut, etc.) to making dressings or sauces and more! Get involved

A monthly collaborative cultural programming series where culture, education, and service vibrantly intersect. These kitchen prep service days will be enhanced by opportunities to learn about the diverse cultures in L.A. Events and activities will recognize, celebrate, and honor important days that are significant to L.A.’s diverse multicultural communities through cooking, food, art, memories, storytelling, and community partnerships.

The cooking demo or presentation is followed by a Kitchen Prep volunteer service session. Service events on these dates may be enhanced by guest speakers, cultural activities, and a culturally-specific dish or menu that volunteers will help prepare for our nonprofit partners. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn, share and then serve. Find out this month’s theme.
